In order to mount windows shared folder on CentOS, you need to install some packages like below % sudo yum install samba-client samba-common cifs-utils
And the easiest way can mount the folder you want will be like below % sudo mount.cifs //x.x.x.x/incoming –o username=YOUR_DOMAIN_NAMEYOUR_USER_ACCOUNT, password=YOUR_PASSWORD, iocharset=utf8, file_mode=0777, dir_mode=0777 /mnt/nas_incoming
In case that you encounter error message like “mount error(12): Cannot allocate memory to the mount.cifs(8)” like below when you mount the windows shared folder, it might be happening on large size disk and unfortunately I have no solution at the moment. Tags: Centos mount mount.cifs samba
